Dr. Bhavesh Patel

Dr. Bhavesh Patel is an Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Department at Adani Institute of Infrastructure Engineering (AIIE). He has several years of work experience in the complete gamut of academic activities-teaching, research and Institutional development. His research is primarily in the area of thermal system integration, modeling, development, performance analysis, optimization, and economic analysis. He has published more than 12 research papers including reputed International Journals and Conference Proceedings. He has also conducted his research in CSIR laboratory at Central salt and Marine Chemical Research Institute, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. He has been a reviewer with international Journals, like, Energy Conversion Management, Energy, and Applied Thermal Engineering, World Journal of Engineering and European Journal of Sustainable Development Research.

Thermal system design, Hybrid thermal systems, Low temperature power cycles, Refrigeration, Economic analysis.

  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (specialization in Power generation and Refrigeration) from Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar (2018).
  • M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (specialization in Thermal Engineering) from Nirma University, Ahmedabad (2011).
  • B.E in Mechanical Engineering from Gujarat University (Charotar Institute of Technology), Changa (2009).

Prior to joining AIIE, Dr. Bhavesh Patel was endorsed faculty of Gujarat Technological University and he has 2 years of teaching experience. He has 1 year of research experience with Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) Laboratory at Central salt and Marine Chemical Research Institute, Bhavnagar, Gujarat. He is also a member of American Society of Thermal and Fluid Engineers.

Dr. Bhavesh Patel has worked in the area of Organic Rankine Cycle and Thermal system integration. He has experience of developing lab scale prototype power block of 1 kW organic Rankine cycle and scaled model of 5 kW capacity during his research. He has published 7 International Journal papers (Journals like Solar Energy, Journal of Cleaner Production, Energy Conversion and Management etc.) and 6 International conference proceedings. During his Ph.D. study, he was associated with two research projects as follows:

Title: Experimental investigation on micro-scale organic Rankine cycle using scroll compressor converted expander.
Amount: 2,50,000 INR
Duration: 2 year

Title: Development of 5 kW Organic Rankine cycle test rig.
Amount: 25,00,000 INR
Duration: 1.5 year
