Dr. Bhargav Adhvaryu


Associate Professor (Visiting)

CEPT University, Ahmedabad. Urban and Transport Planning, Design and Management; Sustainable Urban Development

Dr. Bhargav Adhvaryu is an Associate Professor at CEPT University.  He is currently associated with the M. Tech. in Infrastructure Engineering Design (MIED) Program, Faculty of Technology and also heads Doctoral Office at CEPT.

He teaches courses covering topics such as: urban & transport planning, design, and management; sustainable urban development; urban modelling; and quantitative techniques and research methods. His research and practice interests spans a wide variety of interlinked areas such as sustainable cities and transport; transport infrastructure planning, design, and management; enhancing development/master planning using analytical tools and techniques; land use—transport interaction modelling and incorporating economic aspects into models of cities; and urban development management  expense

He worked as Research Associate at the University of Cambridge, UK for two and half years. Prior to that, he was lecturer at CEPT University for four years, teaching post-graduate planning students; lecturer in civil engineering at SCET, Surat for one year teaching undergraduate architecture students; lecturer at REC Surat for a year teaching undergraduate civil engineering and post-graduate planning students; and Assistant Professor at Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management, Ahmedabad. He was also Project Manager for four years at Environmental Planning Collaborative, Ahmedabad, a not for profit urban planning, infrastructure, and development, consulting firm.

Dr. Adhvaryu holds a PhD in Urban & Transport Planning/Modelling from the University of Cambridge, UK; MSc in Transport from Imperial College London & UCL, UK; Diploma in Transport of the Imperial College; MTech in Planning (CEPT University, Ahmedabad, India); and BE Civil (REC, Surat, India).
