Ganesh A. Devkar received Doctorate in Construction Management from Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) in 2012, M.E. in Civil Engineering with specialization in Construction Engineering and Management from Sardar Patel University in 2002 and B.E. in Civil Engineering from Dr. B. A. Marathwada University in 2000.
His doctoral thesis focuses on identifying the competencies necessary for effective implementing Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in urban service delivery and developing a framework that allows urban local bodies to assess their capability to successfully deliver projects through PPPs. During his doctoral research work, he was involved in research projects for Tamil Nadu Urban Development Fund; Ministry of Urban Development; and Institute of Water Policy, National University of Singapore. He worked as a Senior Project Officer in the Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras and was involved in systematic review project on “Impact of private sector involvement on access and quality of service in electricity, telecom, and water supply sectors”, which was funded by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID).
After completion of his doctoral studies from IIT Madras, he worked as a full time faculty at Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management (AIIM) and taught courses related to project management techniques, construction management, public private partnerships in infrastructure, and urban planning and management. His research interests are in the areas of construction project management, public private partnerships and urban infrastructure development.
