Prof. Diptiranjan Mahapatra

Diptiranjan worked extensively in the Infrastructure & Energy sector before acquiring a PhD degree, majoring in Energy & Environment Economics & Policy, in 2009. He is interested in the relationships between government regulation and corporate strategy especially of the monopolies, state-led-capitalism versus free-market capitalism, Russia’s emergence as an energy superpower, and the economics of externalities, public goods & market failure. His past assignments in teaching, research, and consulting include Infrastructure Policy especially PPPs; Contracts and Re-negotiations ; Land Acquisitions and Environmental Impact Assessment;  Energy & Environment Market ; National Oil Companies versus International Oil Companies; Risk of Leakage in Carbon capture and Sequestration (CCS); and Natural Resource Pricing.

 Recently, Diptiranjan was on a sabbatical with BNL, Department of Energy, USA, where he was involved in a CCS project, in collaboration with Princeton University and University of Minnesota. Besides AIIM, he has also taught at the IIMs including Ahmedabad and Udaipur.
